Mineral Springs

In 1846, a jet of brine worked its way to the surface in today's “Sprudelhof” (lit. Fountain Courtyard) and thus justified Bad Nauheim's vocation as a city of health. Today, nine springs are bubbling in Bad Nauheim which provide healing waters of excellent quality and a particular richness in minerals.

The salty brine rises from watercourses which lie thousands of metres below the surface and are heated by the warmth of the interior of the earth. By means of pressure the water rises as a spring to the surface and in the case of Bad Nauheim's brine, still has a constant temperature of 37 degrees Celsius – the ideal warmth for bathing. When bathing in brine, the blood is redistributed which results in an increasing transport to the heart and lungs. Inflammations are slowed down, the blood flow is increased and the immune system strengthened.

The brine helps purifying and detoxing the body which relieves a variety of diseases such as neurodermatitis, acne, asthma and rheumatism. In Bad Nauheim, the healing power of water is used both in a traditional manner and by means of advanced applications.
