13th Art Nouveau Festival 7th - 9th September 2018

Once a year, the golden age of the former world-renowned spa resort world bath comes alive again when Bad Nauheim celebrates its art nouveau festival!

Art nouveau and nostalgia fans find plenty to suit their interests with clothes, dancing and games from yesteryear, demonstrations of historical crafts, or lectures and exhibitions on how the Jugendstil reform movement influenced society and culture.

For three days, festival goers feel like they've been transported back to the turn of the 20th century. At the artisan and restorers market, art lovers can admire the wide repertoire of art nouveau craftsmanship with exhibits and demonstrations of typical stucco, ceramic, glass, wood and jewellery works.

Visitors can also experience the flair of the olden days with a ride in a hackney carriage, the typical means of transport around the turn of the century. Young festival visitors in particular are likely to be fascinated by the penny-farthing cyclists.

Historic Cycle Event

Saturday, 8th September 2018

On the occasion of the 13th Jugendstilfestival a historic cycle event will take place in the Sprudelhof and the adjoined historic Kurpark (spa gardens). Cyclists in contemporary costumes will compete on bicycles from that era. The spectators will award not only the winners of the individual classes, but also the best-dressed cyclist with his bicycle best suited to match the fashion of the turn of the century.
