Enjoy magical Bad Nauheim
Nestled amidst parks, vineyards and rose fields, Bad Nauheim is a destination that combines nature, internationally renowned works of architecture, tradition and culture. The thermal salt baths at the edge of the Taunus, with Europe’s largest Art Nouveau buildings, are just as fascinating as the rambling, 150-year-old park grounds. And the art of rose gardening in the Bad Nauheim city quarter of Steinfurth is almost as old. In summer months, the sweet fragrance of millions of rose petals is released over the city, enticing visitors to visit the world’s only rose museum. Sporty guests can take in the rose fields and scenery on the "Rosenradweg” – or rose bicycle trail (108 kilometers long!) from Frankfurt to Giessen and enjoy the landscape along the Nidda, Wetter and Usa rivers. Water – to inhale, drink, bathe or swim in – is another guarantee for complete relaxation in Bad Nauheim. Test a tub bath in the historic setting of the Art Nouveau bathhouse as did once Austrian Empress Sissi or Saudi Arabian King Ibn Saud in 1959 – or tank up on refreshing sea air where the refreshing salt water drips from the salines. Even more intensive: a visit to the inhalation chamber with its jets of salty air.

Experience the special atmosphere of the ‘healthy city’ as you wander through the pedestrian zone and window shop in the many different businesses. Discover the cafes, restaurants and biergartens of Bad Nauheim’s picturesque old city with its quaint, half-timbered houses.

In 2010, Bad Nauheim will present a special highlight: the 4th Hessian State Garden Exhibition, during which the city will display its most “blossoming” side. A landscaped bridge spanning the city from east to west will blend current trends in garden architecture with the unique Art Nouveau facilities to create an exciting connection between old and new.
